July Ipsy Bag reveal AND review

Please excuse this blog. It is days late and it is completely unedited. I mean my blogs are never perfect but I didn't even read through this after I wrote it... I'm off to bed!............

Well it is nearly the end of July so of course I'm just now writing my July Ipsy reveal, and tacking on the review into one post!  I don't know what has been up with me lately but I have just been letting the waking up at 6am thing just make me lazy. I'm done with that! I am writing this blog just to get me going, screw that I'm posting it after Beauty Wise Wednesday! I'll get this out and then I'll get back on track! So here we go, the July Ipsy bag!!

This month the bag is a tube like, clear pink latex bag with "Ipsy ...Beauty by you" printed on the front in white. I really like this bag, seems like a great bag to put in a beach bag because it is slightly water proof.

Product #1: Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof 1.4 oz... $5.99 on e-bay.com
Coupon: save $5 off a purchase of $25 more at Ulta.com
Product Description: Humidity resistant spray
First impression: I'm pretty excited about this. As a girl with curly hair I am very aware of the slightest bit of humidity in the air and I'm always trying new products to fight the frizz when my hair is curly or straight!
Review: I honestly only used this product once but I did like it. I put my hair up ( with no other products in it) and just sprayed my hair with this and it did great at reducing frizz in my hair. The only thing I think I would do differently next time is, working the product into my hair a little bit because when I sprayed it on just like hair spray it left my hair just the slightest bit crispy (that I was able to remedy by running my finger through it)

Product #2: BH cosmetics the California Collection "sample" pallet  $9.99 on E-bay buy it now.
Coupon: 10% off the California collection at bhcosmetics.com (basically only $7)
Product Description: Three eye shadows samples: Hollywood; a deep purple (I used in my crease), San Francisco ( a golden brown) and Malibu (golden)
First Impression: I was pretty excited about these color, they are right up my ally being slightly neutral but the purple is a great pop of color for my greenish eyes.
Review: Once again I of course love all three colors! they have great pigment and make a great everyday look! I have mostly work the Malibu as a all over lid color and the Hollywood in my crease. (*note: my friend didn't think the Hollywood was very pigmented on her first swatch)

Product #3: Coola mineral sunscreen/ tinted moisturizer .23oz... 1.7oz is $36 so per my talent in math this sample is worth $7.50 (yikes pricey)
Coupon: 30% off any purchase at Coolasuncare.com
Product description: organic mineral sunscreen/ tinted moisturizer in Rose essence SPF 20
First Impression: I have heard about this product in a couple of YouTube videos so I'm excited about trying it out.
Review: I actually never tried out this product despite being in the sun a few days. It is such a small sample I feel like I should save for some special occasion (like I have any) but overall I know I wouldn't purchase this product because of the price.

Product # 4: Demeter Salt Air roll on perfume .290z $10 on their website
Coupon: 20% off any purchase at demeterfragrance.com
Product Description: From their website: "Imagine a perfect sea breeze on the perfect beach at your favorite tropical island."
First impression: I wasn't sure what I thought of this scent when I first opened it. My friend mentioned she thought it smelled like soap.
Review: I don't think I'm too impressed with this perfume. First of all I don't really know what to think about the scent so I had Mat smell it and he didn't like it at all. Second even if I did like the smell I don't think it really is something people can smell on you unless they get all up close and personal. This will be a give away product for me.

Product #5: Pop beauty pouty pop crayon in Fuchsia Flirt .1oz $4.16 0n their website ( the 6 pack is $25)
Coupon: 20% off popbeautycosmetics.com
Product description: a lip gloss in a light pink tint in a twist up pencil form.
First impression: I was so excited to get this! I am still experimenting with lip products and I love trying new things.
Review: I like the product it's self a lot. It goes on very smoothly and has great pigment. The only downside is the color. I'm just not sure about it. It's a pretty pale pink and I'm not sure if I can pull that off during the summer when I am more tan.

Total Value: $37.63 plus the bag, once again I paid only $10. even though I wasn't a huge fan of two of the products I think it was still completely worth it!

LATE Beauty Wise Wednesday: February Ipsy Bag Review

Hey guys! Sorry this blog post is a day late. I choose to be with a friend who lost her father yesterday over blogging. Also this post will be without pictures due to time.
Here is my review of last months Ipsy bag. Overall I was very happy with the bag and I'm excited to show you what is in this months bag next week!!

Product #1: Coastal Scents “In The Spotlight” eye shadow pallet: Single color is .04oz for $1.99 at coastalscents.com. The sample is .07oz so worth about $4 *Product includes: Dark Goldenrod, Sunbeam, Golden Globe and Dark Golden Olive.
Review: Totally loved these eye shadows. They are very pigmented and last a good amount without any primer. I used these colors mixed with my other eye shadows and I just loved them and used them almost daily this month. I defiantly want to purchase.
Product #2: Pixi flawless and poreless primer: 1.01oz is $29.00 on target.com. The sample is .5oz so worth about $15 *Product description: Pore minimizing face primer, oil free, hydrating, hypoallergenic, for all skin types.
Review: I only used this a couple times this month but from what I could tell this was a pretty nice primer. I'm no expert however and I've only used one other primer in my life. I liked that it was light and not greasy. It didn't really have a smell and it did seem to help my make up stay on a bit longer.
Product #3: Pop Beauty mascara in smokey black kapow!!: .21oz 9.99 on dermastore.com.Sample is .17 oz so worth about $5. *No description on the product.
Review: Now I might be a weirdo but I prefer the hard old school brush that came with this mascara compared to the plastic type one's I've been getting in mascara's lately. I did get a bit of raccoon eyes by the end of the day however so I'm thinking I want to change up to waterproof mascara in hopes to avoid flaking.
Product #4: Mica Beauty Ultra Smooth Gel Eyeliners: sample seems to be full size but doesn’t come with the brush. $30 on MICAbeauty.com I'd say the sample is maybe worth $20 without the brush. *This product also doesn't have a description.
Review: LOVED this eye liner! I really like to get a fine line for my daily make up and it was so easy with this eye liner. It was also nice cause I was able to put it on with just one hand (important when I have to hold Sloane while putting on make up) I find with the pencil liners I need to hold my eye still with my other hand. I did leave it open over night one night and it seemed to dry out a little bit but I kinda moved my brush around in it and it came back to life. A YouTuber I follow; Allie, actually put up a tutorial on how to do perfect eyeliner with gel liner. I haven't tried it out yet but I'm excited to!
Product #5: Lash Card: 10 cards are $6.99 on lashcards.com. Sample came with 4 lash cards valuing about $2.80 *Product Description: Ideal for: separating lashes, layering mascara, hard to reach lashes, bottom lashes. Helps prevent: clumping and smudging.
Review: I attempted to used these two separate times. I never quite figured out how to used them. It was just so awkward and unnecessary. I don't know who would use these, it makes doing mascara harder I think.

So this is my second Ipsy bag I have gotten and I am so happy with the products I have gotten so far with exception of probably the Lash Cards. I definatly say you guys should sign up if you are wanting to try new beauty products but you don't want to spend an arm and a leg trying stuff.

(I am in no way paid to endorse Ipsy. I just think it's a very fun service that I think people don't really know about.)

Beauty Wise Wednesday: February Ipsy Bag

It's another month and you know what that means... NEW IPSY BAG!!! It is so fun to have this to look forward to every month, defiantly worth the $10 it costs.

This is my open bag blog where I'm going to show you what I got in the bag and try and tell you about how much the samples are worth.

This months bag is a black shiny patent leather pouch with a silver zipper pull. The inside is lined red and of course has an ipsy tag stitched in it.

Product #1: Coastal Scents “In The Spotlight” eye shadow pallet: Singlecolor is .04oz for $1.99 at coastalscents.com. The sample is .07oz so worthabout $4 *Product includes: Dark Goldenrod, Sunbeam, Golden Globe and Dark Golden Olive. *First impression: Colors I wouldn't have chosen for myself, but I'll defiantly give them a try. They seem pretty pigmented.

Product #2: Pixi flawless and poreless primer: 1.01oz is $29.00 on target.com. The sample is .5oz so worth about $15 *Product description: Pore minimizing face primer, oil free, hydrating, hypoallergenic, for all skin types. *First impression. Very smooth, no fragrance.

Product #3: Pop Beauty mascara in smokey black kapow!!: .21oz 9.99 on dermastore.com.Sample is .17 oz so worth about $5. *No description on the product. *First impression: I really like the brush and color.

Product #4: Mica Beauty Ultra Smooth Gel Eyeliners: sample seems to be full size butdoesn’t come with the brush. $30 on MICAbeauty.com I'd say the sample is maybe worth $20 without the brush. *This product also doesn't have a description. *First Impression: I'm a bit frightened of it cause I've never used something like this before but I'm excited to try it out.

Product #5: Lash Card: 10 cards are $6.99 on lashcards.com. Sample came with 4 lashcards valuing about $2.80 *Product Description: Ideal for: separating lashes, layering mascara, hard to reach lashes, bottom lashes. Helps prevent: clumping and smudging. *First impression: seems like a good idea but I'm not sure if I'd actually take the time to use these.

So the total value of this months box I've estimated is about $46.80 plus the make up bag. Paid $10
